House, now shop. Mid C18 with early C19 bow window, late C19
dormer and C20 shopfront.
MATERIALS: orange-brown brick in Flemish bond with orange
brick dressings; timber moulded and modillioned eaves cornice;
gabled dormer with 2-light Yorkshire sash window; slate roof.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys and attic; 2-bay front. Shopfront has deep
fascia and vestigial cornice; shop door with brass fittings
has shaped panel and glazing incorporating frosted glass
cartouche embossed with shop name; to right, plate glass
window. First floor has shallow bow window with 8:12:8-pane
sash windows, sill and slight moulded cornice. On second
floor, two unequal 9-pane sash windows in brick quoined
openings with painted sills and gauged brick arches. 5-course
raised brick band at second floor. Rear: 3 storeys and attic
with 3-storey projecting wing with flat roof. On third floor,
4-pane sash window; in attic, 2x6-pane casement window.
INTERIOR: not inspected. RCHM records original staircase with
turned balusters and moulded handrail.
