Aqueduct carrying Leeds and Liverpool Canal over Colne water, probably 1795.
Robert Whitworth, engineer. Dressed stone, pitted to the faces of the arches
and punched to parapet. 2 elliptical arches separated on the south side only,
by a bull-nosed, domed cutwater. The face of the abutments on each side curves
slightly and ends in a pier. Band, then parapet (interrupted by another band)
which on both sides curves gradually from one pier to the other, and thus stands
behind the line of the arches.
