House, now shop. Mid C18, altered and extended in early C19;
further alteration and extension in C20. Front of painted
brick in Flemish bond, timber shopfront and brick dentilled
cornice; rear wing of orange-brown brick in stretcher bond;
pantile roofs with brick stack: roof to wing hipped at
junction with rear of main roof.
EXTERIOR: 3-storey 3-bay front. C20 shopfront, extended to
No.81 (qv), has fascia moulded with sports figures and plate
glass windows. On upper floors, central windows are blind; to
left are 12-pane sashes on both floors, to right 16-pane sash
on first floor, 9-pane light on second floor. All have painted
flat arches of gauged brick. Raised brick band at first floor
level. Rear: windows in gable end have segmental brick arches.
INTERIOR: not inspected. RCHM record an original staircase
from ground floor up; and on first floor, carved stone
chimneypiece decorated with guilloche and stylised foliage in
low relief.
