The Cottage (No.15)

GV II

Farmhouse and cottage. Probably late C17 or early C18,
altered. Handmade brick on stone plinth, the front painted,
graduated stone slate roof with gable copings. Linear plan of
2+1 units, with C20 back extensions.
One-and-a-half storeys, 2+1 windows. No.15 has a gabled porch
offset slightly right of centre, a small 2-light casement
window to the left, an oblong 3-light casement to the right
and 2 half-dormer windows with 2-light casements and shallow
hipped roofs. No.17 to the right has a similar 3-light
casement at ground floor and a similar dormer above; and a
doorway in the right-hand gable wall. Coped gables; short
square brick chimney on ridge in line with doorway of No.15.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
Collectively all the buildings in Little Crosby Road form a
valuable group of similar scale but varied dates, materials
and style.
