House, forming part of terraced row. c1826-30; altered. Brown
brick in Flemish bond, with sandstone dressings and slate
roof. Double-depth double-fronted plan with back extension.
2 storeys and 3 windows, symmetrical; 1st-floor sillband,
moulded gutter cornice. The ground floor has Tuscan porch in
the centre protecting a square-headed doorway (now with C20
door), and two 16-pane sashed windows; the 1st floor has three
9-pane top-hung casement windows imitating sashes, and at the
right-hand end a cast-iron plaque, oblong with cut-out
corners, lettered "MARINE / CRESCENT". Side-wall chimneys.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
All the listed buildings in Marine Crescent, together with
those in Adelaide Terrace, Bath Street, Beach Lawn and Marine
Terrace, form a group in the Waterloo Conservation Area of
Crosby.
