Cottage, barn and outbuildings
approx. 25m west of Beeleigh Abbey

Cottage and adjoining barn to north-east. C16, C19 and C20.
Basic structure of red English-bond brick with alterations in
early C19 English-bond brick with some blue/grey headers; 1st
floor of cottage is of early C20 pargeted render; barn is part
timber-framed of reused timber with black weatherboarding;
roofs are of pantiles, plain tiles to barn, hipped over
cottage and with steeper pitched gable over barn; 3 stacks, 1
rendered.
EXTERIOR: cottage: 2 storeys; windows are mixture of 2-light
and 3-light C20 casements with leaded panes. Remains of Tudor
brick structure with buttress on north-west elevation and
traces of former similar buttress on south-west corner. The
brick is full 2 storeys in height forming partition between
cottage and barn with short return, 2-storey, walls at each
flank, one of which encloses fragments of reused masonry
including stone with mouldings.
Single-storey, black weatherboarded timber-framed range to
north-east with plain tile roof.
