Detached house. Mid C19. Painted stucco, slate roof with stack
to right gable end. L-plan.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys; 2-window range. Chamfered lintels and
jambs to tall casement windows with 4 panes to each leaf,
2-light to the first floor and 3-light to the ground floor.The
forward left wing has C20 bargeboards, finial and pendant; a
similar gabled half dormer to the right retains some ornament
to the left-hand bargeboard. An enclosed lean-to porch in the
angle has a 4-light window with trefoil-headed panes to the
front and a triangular fretted glazed overlight and margin
panes to a half-glazed door in the right return.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
The house, a modest interpretation in the Picturesque
tradition, is part of the Courtenay Park development laid out
in 1854.
