Two houses with shops. 1835-40, with C20 shopfronts.
Orange-grey brick in Flemish bond, Silver Street front in
English garden-wall bond; timber eaves cornice and slate roof
with brick stacks.
EXTERIOR: 4-storey 2-window front. First and second floor
windows are tall 12-pane sashes, those on second floor
squatter: on third floor, unequal 9-pane sashes. All windows
have sills and cambered brick arches. Moulded eaves cornice
returned on Silver Street front. Silver Street front: 4
storeys, 4 bays. Shopfront continued at right end: at left
end, doorcase of plain pilasters and flat hood contains
replacement door beneath tall square-paned overlight. On upper
floors of two left bays, windows repeat those on St Sampson's
Square front. Bay to right of centre is blind, and right end
bay has blind window on each floor. Cast-iron rainwater head
towards left end.
