Barn, now house. Mid-late C16 with early C19 and C20
additions. Timber-framed and black-tarred weatherboarding with
Norfolk-reed thatched roof. Lean-to extension on south-west
corner with old pantile roof, and single-storey, T-plan, C20
rendered range with pantile roof to north; C20 tiled hipped
open porch on timber posts on south-east corner and small
ridgeline stack. Gabled thatched midstrey in centre of west
side of barn with C20 glazed doors in place of original barn
doors. Barn now has small windows in boarding with black
painted frames, and new range has C20 brown-stained casements
and some red-brick trim at eaves and plinth.
INTERIOR: very good quality C16 frame, substantially complete,
of 3 bays with jowled posts and with integral mid strey. Long
wall braces of serpentine profile between posts and roof
plates at corners. Cambered tie beams, formerly with arch
braces but now with C18 hanging knees. Roof has side purlins
and serpentine wind braces. Midstrey has door posts either
side with moulded jowl-like profiles.
