Pair of houses, now one shop. c1797 with drastic alterations
later and C20 shopfront. Orange-brown brick in Flemish bond at
front, stretcher bond at rear; timber cornice and shopfront;
brick stacks to pantile roof.
EXTERIOR: 3-storey 4-window front. Shopfront has double doors
in centre between 3-light plate glass windows over raised
panel risers. First floor windows are 1-pane sashes, on second
floor C20 cross-windows: all have flat arches of orange gauged
brick and painted sills. Moulded dentilled and modillioned
eaves cornice with inverted bell rainwater head at each end.
INTERIOR: RCHM records 2 original fireplaces on the first
floor of No.28.
