House, now premises of Leeds Metropolitan University. 1810-15,
altered C20. By John and George Bischoff. Red brick, Flemish
bond, slate roof. 2 storeys, 2 bays. 2 steps up to 6-panel
door left, fanlight with radial glazing bars, in wooden
surround with reeded pilasters and open dentilled pediment.
4-pane sash in moulded flush frame, stone sill and wedge
lintel, right; first floor left: sash with glazing bars in
flush frame, stone sill and shallow lintel. C20 frame right.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
The square was begun in 1806 with 2 houses on the NW side;
this side was the second stage, with 9 smaller houses built
1810-1815.
