Boundary wall, with gate piers and gates. Probably c1835 with
gateways to synagogue made c1930. Coursed gritstone, snecked
stone to gate piers, iron gates. Forms the front wall to No.98
Chapeltown Road and encloses Synagogue grounds on 3 sides, of
varying height, from approx 2.5m on west side to 1m, ramped,
on north. Flat coping on west, rounded on north and east.
Square-section piers, grid-pattern ironwork to 2-leaf gates,
with Star of David motif in centre of each.
Probably built as a boundary wall on the grid of streets
planned as the Squire's Pasture Estate in 1828, see No.98
(qv).
