Memorial to Eliza and William Hill approx. 30m south of Church of St John

Memorial. 1884 and 1889. By Hodgson of Leeds. Gritstone. A
cross in Norman-style arch, flanked by seated angels. Plinth
inscription: 'In Loving Memory of/ Eliza/ wife of William
Hill/ The Heath, Adel/ Born April 6th 1825/ Died April 24th
1884/ Also/ William Hill F.R.I.B.A. Architect/ Born June 19th
1827/ Died January 5th 1889'. The inscriptions to left and
right record Herbert Hill, 1862-1931 and William Hill,
1865-1926, sons. The grave plot is enclosed by stone curbs and
bollards. The sculptor's name is carved on the back.
William Hill designed the Leeds Chest Clinic, No.74 New
Briggate (qv).
