House. Dated 1603, porch added c1659. Sandstone rubble with
ashlar detailing; hipped steep-pitched plain tile roof; 4
brick corner stacks on stone bases.
EXTERIOR: 4 storeys and cellar; 2-window range (formerly 3-):
moulded wood mullion and transom lights with vertical glazing
bars and single small metal casements, to 1st and 2nd floors;
three 2-light mullions with internal shutters; moulded wood
eaves with pineapple pendants. 2-storey porch with ashlar
mullion and transom window over moulded arch with keyblock;
attached columns to both storeys; bands; balustrade, with
plank door in moulded case to 2nd floor; side openings;
internal niches; studded plank door to house; to right, 8/8
sash; to left, early C18 twin sashes, in altered openings
under ashlar arches. Right returned side: 2 tiers of similar
windows with 8/8 sashes to ground floor; returned eaves
detail. Left returned side: similar fenestration and detail,
over C19 single-storey service wing with lean-to to rear;
plank door with simple hood; mullion and transom casement
under brick segmental arch.
Rear: 3 tiers of similar windows, some part-blocked; C18
leaded casement to ground floor right; central studded plank
door and barred overlight, in moulded case, with simple flat
hood; returned bands and eaves detail.
INTERIOR: open-well staircase with turned balusters and newels
with ornamental finials and pendants.
