Bank. 1896-97. By Robert Evans & Son of Nottingham. Extended
1920-21, in the same style. Ashlar, with pink granite basement
and ground floor. Roof not visible behind balustrade. Single
and double gable stacks with dentillated cornices. Italian
Renaissance style. Plinth, sill bands, dentillated main
cornice. 3 storeys; 7 window range of 2-light plain sashes
with pediments and stone mullions. Above, 7 smaller windows
with cornices. Ground floor has 5 large windows divided by
paired Doric pilasters, and flanked by 8-panel double doors,
the right pair with a large overlight.
INTERIOR has original enriched panelled plaster ceiling with
moulded cross beams and cornice, carried on wooden Doric
columns.
