Churchyard walls, piers and war
memorial at Church of St Mary

Churchyard walls, piers and war memorial. Walls late C19, war
memorial dated 1920. Wall, to left, coursed squared stone with
half-round coping, rounded corner and plain gateway. War
memorial comprises a 5m length of similar wall with Portland
stone coping, carrying an inscribed plaque supported by
volutes and topped with a shallow segmental pediment and
keystone with cross. Below the plaque, a flower trough with
bronze rosettes, on shaped corbels. To right, a square ashlar
gate pier, at the corner of the return wall to the churchyard.
Return wall has a gateway with square piers and pyramidal
caps.
