Annexe to Jessop Hospital for Women
II
House, now hospital annexe. c1840. Brick with painted stone
dressings and hipped slate roof with 2 ridge stacks. Plinth,
first floor band, moulded cornice and blocking. 2 storeys; 3
window range of 12 pane sashes, the central one with moulded
surround, the left one partly reglazed. Central doorcase with
Doric columns and cornice, with fielded 6-panel door with
fanlight. On each side, a 12 pane sash. All these windows have
brick flat arches. Left return has 3 similar sashes on each
floor. Right return has a glazing bar staircase window and
below, a single storey gabled outbuilding with a gable stack.
