Offices, formerly school masters' houses for Shrewsbury
School. Dated 1825 but with possible earlier core. Brick with
plain tiled roof. Neo-Tudor style. 2 storeys with attics,
6-window range forming a series of gables and a narrow central
section. Outer bays advanced. 2 principal doorways with
4-centred arches and hoodmoulds, and narrow doorway to right.
Mullioned windows with 2 round-arched lights and hoodmoulds on
each floor. Narrow central bay has single lancet window and
dormer over, and is dated with initials SB (Samuel Butler,
headmaster of school between 1798-1836). Axial star-shaped
stacks. Full-height square bay window with half hipped roof
and paired sash windows in side elevation is a late C19
addition.
