2 town houses, now cafe and offices. Late C18 and early C19,
restored and altered late C20. Stucco with ashlar dressings
and slate roofs with two C19 hipped dormers with sashes.
Plinth. 3 storeys plus attics; 1:3 window range. Windows are
C18 and C19 glazing bar sashes. No.38, to right, has three
12-pane sashes on the upper floors. Off centre C20 doorway
flanked to right by a plate glass window and to left by a
rendered doorcase with gable and segmental opening.
No.40, to left, has a segment-arched 16-pane sash on the first
floor, and above, a similar flat-headed window. Central late
C20 6-panel door and overlight, flanked by single 12-pane
sashes.
