Farmhouse. Probably C16 or possibly earlier, with C17 and C19
extensions. Timber-framed with long curved tension-braces on
stone rubble plinth; white-painted brick infill; right return
side of limestone; part of rear elevation and extension brick.
Plain tile gable-ended roof. Brick gable-end and rear stacks.
Possibly originally a hall house.
One storey and attic. 3 timber-frame bays and C19 brick l-bay
extension set back slightly on left. C20 glazed door. Small 1
and 2-light casements on ground floor with glazing bars and 2
small gabled dormers above eaves.Brick extension on left has
plank door and window with cambered arches and gabled dormer
above; 2-light casements have horizontal glazing bars. Former
cowshed at rear, now partly incorporated into the house, is
partly timber-framed but largely rebuilt in C19 and C20 brick.
Interior has exposed framing, chamfered beams and large
chimney stack. Cranked-headed doorway has pintles on jamb.
Exposed wind-braces in attics. Queen-post roof trusses.
