23/10013 No 7, Ivy House

GV II

House. Late C18/early C19. Flemish bond brick with dentil cornice
and hipped clay tile roof; brick stack to right side . L-plan
with staircase range to rear. 3 storeys and basement; one-window
range. Original main entrance on left(within Cornerways qv) has
6-panel door. Side entrance to right has boarded door with strap
hinges. Segmental-arched openings throughout, with 20-pane sash
windows to ground and first floor; second floor has 10-pane sash.
Rear has plinth of local sandstone. Lower ground floor has large
glazed opening; ground floor has 16-pane sash; first floor has
blocked opening; second floor has 2-light timber and iron
casement. Staircase tower on right has narrow full-height window
with horizontal glazing bars, now partly bricked up. Small one-
storey wing projects to left. interior: ground-floor room noted
as having moulded timber fireplace.
