2 cottages with central carriageway. C18 with later alterations and additions.
Part timber framed and plastered, part painted or plastered brick. Red plain
tiled roofs, single bay lower range to left. Red brick chimney stack to rear
range of right build. 2 storeys. A central bressumer runs through the right
range and is supported by brickwork to left of the open carriageway. Dentilled
eaves cornice to right range. 1:2 first floor and 1:1 ground floor small paned
vertically sliding sash windows, segmental heads to left range. 4 panelled door
approached by steps to right of carriageway. Attached to left is the part
plastered, part weatherboarded gable end structure of the old forge with chimney
stack to left, this is now part of the accommodation of Forge Studios.
Important visually at an acute bend in the High Street.
