Mid/later C19. Classical. Stone corner building of 3 storeys. Irregular fenestration
to front plus 6 windows to north return in Crossley Street. Rusticated and
arcaded ground storey. Engaged Corinthian columns and segmental pediments
to 1st floor with 2 oriels to south end of front. Main entablature popped
by balustrade with elaboration at corner and enriched pediment above pair of
oriels.
No 1 (with south extension of White Swan Hotel White Swan Hotel and Princess
Buildings together with all the listed buildings in Crossley street No 2
Wade Street and Nos 12 Nos 18 to 22 (even) Nos 17 to 33 (odd) Northgate and No 2
Crown Street form an im ortant group.
