Lock, adjacent to Ward Road bridge.

Narrow pond lock, originating 1799-1810, by Benjamin Outram. Restored 1991. Offside
stone steps at tail down to ground level. Single wooden tail beam, a pair of raking cast-iron
ground paddle gearings on offside. Chamber of hammer dressed stone, complete with
mason's marks. Dressed copings appear to be of EC19 origin. Single wooden head gate, also
with paired raking cast-iron ground paddle gearing. Wooden tail bridge with black and white
handrails.
