Entrance to army premises adjoining No. 52 Main Street.

Barrack entrance, mid C19. Rock-faced red sandstone. Segmental arch
to gateway 3 metres high by 3 metres wide. Crown and Prince of Wales
feathers with motto ICH DIEN on keystone; L COMPANY inscribed on stone
above; 2nd EC VB CR (E COMPANY:V BATTALION:CHESHIRE REGIMENT), on
voussoirs. Rectangular wing walls (with pedestrian door left) have
Cheshire sheaf between 2 mock loopholes at high level to each side of
gateway. Crenellated parapet.
