Cottage. C17 with C19 alterations. Plastered cob on rubble footings; cob stack
topped with c19 brick; thatch roof to main house and corrugated iron roof to
service outshot.
1-room plan cottage with secondary service outshot to rear. Stack in right end
party wall shared with adjoining Corner Cottage (q.v.) Pennycott is a middle
cottage in a row of 3 with Hcmeleigh (q.v.) to left (north-east) and Corner Cottage
to right. 2 storeys. 2-window front of C20 casements with glazing bars and C20
part-glazed door to left. Roof is continuous with adjoining cottages.
Interior: in main room the C17 crossbeam is soffit-chamfered with scroll stops.
Contemporary fireplace has plastered sides and lintel is obscured. Roof not
inspected.
Pennycott is centre cottage of a row of contemporary cottages. Coleford is a
remarkably unspoilt and picturesque hamlet.
