Stratford Park

Conservatory. Late C18, probably built at the same time as the
remodelling of Stratford Park (qv) in the 1780s. Built of
brick and faced on south, east and west elevations in
limestone ashlar; all original glazing and roof structure now
missing. Rectangular plan. One storey. Continuous moulded
cornice. Semi-circular arched window openings to 8-bay south
elevation and to 3-bay east elevation; steps rise to
semi-circular arched doorway in west elevation. Interior has
stone flag floors with original iron decorative grates next to
windows; to centre is separately listed urn (qv).
