Carved bear south east of Church of St Andrew
GV
II*
Upright carved bear, one of a group of four. Medieval. Red sandstone; about 4 feet high. Probably in its original position at one corner of the medieval churchyard and thought to represent the third part of a four-part story: the bear makes a vigorous attempt to dislodge the animal clinging to its back, by reaching over his shoulder with his right paw.
