Detached cottage. C16 with late C17 addition. Formerly timber-
framed, rebuilt in rubble stone, thatched roof with gable end brick
stacks. L-plan. Entrance in west gable end of 2-bay C16 range;
single-storey and attic, 1-window. C20 porch and door with 2-light
segmental-headed casement over. Left return has 2-light casement.
Right return has 2-light casement and French windows within C20
conservatory; not of special interest. C17 two-storey range
attached to north has two 2-light casements to ground and first
floors, brick stack to left, C20 rear casements. Rear gable end of
C16 range has lean-to extension, exposed timber-frame to attic with
casements.
Interior has deep chamfered beams with stepped stops, open
fireplace with cambered chamfered timber lintel on wooden jambs,
timber-framed partitions to C16 range, some smoke-blackening of
roof timber at west end, possibly due to position of former timber
smoke hood rather than to a formerly open house with central
hearth. C17 range has open fireplace with plain timber lintel on
stone jambs, chamfered beams.
