Pair of cottages. Early C17. Square-panelled timber-framing with
brick nogging, Bridgwater tiled roof with stone and brick stack to
left and brick stack right of centre. Three bays. Two-storey, 2-
window. Two planked doors with gabled canopies to left, 2-light or
3-light casement to right of each respective door. First floor has
2-light and 3-light casements. Left return has large external
stone stack with offsets, 2-light casement to ground floor to
right. Right return rebuilt in English garden wall bond brick with
2-light and 3-light casements to both floors. Rear has 2-storey
wing with lean-to to right, weatherboarded addition to left.
Interior of No 1 has deep chamfered beams with stepped stops,
exposed joists, former rear external timber-framed wall retains 4-
light diamond-mullioned window to ground floor and 2-light to first
floor. First floor Tudor-arched stone fireplace, timber-framed
partitions with wattle and daub panels. C19 roof. No 1 currently
undergoing renovation (February 1987).
