House with stable and cottage attached to rear. Early C18
possibly incorporating older fabric, early C19, C20. Red brick,
limestone ashlar dressings. Plain tiled roof with brick coped
gables, moulded wooden eaves, single ridge and gable stacks. L
Plan. 2 storey and attic, 8 bay front with first floor band.
Doorway to right with ashlar half columns with foliate capitals,
pediment with semi-circular lower opening, traceried fanlight,
panelled reveals and panelled door. 4 glazing bar sashes to
left, 2 glazing bar sashes to right with doorway beyond with
segmental head and plank door. Glazing bar sash above main
doorway, flanked by single dummy windows with glazing bars; 2
glazing bar sashes beyond to the left, and 3 glazing bar sashes
beyond to right. All the windows with segmental heads. Stable
with accommodation above and cottage beyond, in north range to
rear, of colourwashed brick, with pantile roof and 2 ridge
stacks. 3 bay stable to left with 2 doorways with overlights and
plank doors to right and 2 long narrow windows to left. 3 gabled
dormers above all with 2 light casements. Early C19 3 bay cottage
attached to right with doorway to left with segmental head and
six panelled door. 2, two light sliding sashes to right. Single
gabled dormer above with 2 light sliding sash and dentillated
eaves below. Blocked semi-circular headed staircase window in
north front of main range. Interior of main range with 5 flight
return early C18 staircase with 3 turned bannisters with square
knops to each tread, simply moulded tread ends and raking,
moulded handrail. Hall and 3 other rooms with fielded panelled
dados and shutters. One upstairs room with complete wall of
panelling. Simply moulded cornices and original 6 panelled
doors.
