Priory, now house. C15, C16, refronted C19. Coursed squared
rubble and dressed stone, ashlar dressings. Steep pitched and
hipped stone slate and artificial slate roofs. Chamfered
plinth, stone gutter brackets, coped gables with kneelers. 3
gablestacks, one of them external. 2 storeys plus garrets, 8
bays. Windows are cross casements with projecting architraves.
Those to ground floor have moulded hoods. South front has 2
panelled doors with moulded and chamfered reveal, mullioned
overlight and hood. Between them, 2 casements. Beyond, to
left, a Tudor arched lancet. Beyond again, 2 casements. Beyond,
to right, 2 casements. Above, central oval cartouche. Above
again, 8 cross casements. Above again, central cross gable has
blind quatrefoil opening. To west, adjoining outbuildings, C16,
altered C19 and C20. Single storey, 3 unequal bays. Flat
parapeted and lean-to pantile roofs. To left, C20 brick garage.
To its right, external stack, flanked by moulded square openings.
To right again, segmental headed recess containing C14 chamfered
and rebated doorway. North side has 3 blocked lancets. West
front has C20 flat roofed brick addition. 2 casements. Above,
to left, 2 relieving arches. To right, C20 casement. North
front has to left, C20 addition, 2 storeys, brick, rendered. To
its right, double gabled wing. To right again, single gabled
wing. To left, C20 bay window. Double gable has glazing bar
sash and C20 gabled porch with lean-to addition each side and 5
casements. Beyond, a glazing bar sash, 2 casements and a
glazing bar sash. Above, to left, 4 glazing bar sashes. Above
again, to left, 2 similar smaller sashes and above them, small
rectangular openings in gables. To right, quatrefoil opening
with C20 casement. East front has to left, projecting cross-
gabled wing and to right, C20 2 storey addition. To left, tiny
light. Recessed central bay has lean-to over stairway, with a
ground level casement. Above it, a plain sash. Return angle
has to south, blocked Tudor arched window with square reveal and
hood mould. C20 addition has square timber bay window with
French window and 4 casements. Above, to left, plain sash and
to its right 2 casements. Above again, to left, a leaded
casement. Return angle has, above, blocked fireplace and above
again, a blocked window. Interior has 6 jowled bay posts and 2
sections of stud wall. Principal rafter roof with tenoned
purlins and wind braces. Early C19 dogleg stair with curved
landing. Coved, clustered quatrefoil newels, stick balusters,
curved moulded hand rail. 2 span beams, one with ogee stops.
West end has large C16 chamfered segmental headed fireplace with
re-sited crane and pothook. To its left, inserted pointed arched
door. C17 ashlar fireplace with four centred arched head,
moulded surround and cornice. 2 moulded Tudor arched fireplaces
with square stops. 2 moulded square headed fireplaces. Early
C19 hob grate. 7 studded Tudor arched doors with shaped reveals.
Single C19 pointed arched door. C19 ceiling with moulded cornice
and cased beams.
