House, former rectory. Circa 1840-50. Mudstone rubble with painted ashlar detail;
stone rubble stacks with plastered brick chimney shafts; slate roof. Double depth
house facing south-east with 3 front rooms and rear rooms under parallel roof.
Outer front rooms break forward slightly. Main door with porch to rear of left
(south-western) side to entrance hall and stairs. Rear block under parallel roof
and has fourth room projecting to right (north-east) with lower roof line. 2
storeys with attics. Tudor Gothic. 3-window main front with outer bays broken
forward with gable-ends. All first floor and ground floor centre windows are stone,
square-headed, 2 lights with 4-centred arched heads and sunken spandrels, and
moulded reveals. All contain sashes with glazing bars and much original glass. All
except first floor centre have hoodmoulds with simple labels. Outer ground floor
window have slightly projecting 4-light bay windows in similar style with coved
cornice enriched with 4-leaf decoration and embattled parapet. Slit ventilators
under gables and small pendants at gable apexes. Left (south-west) side elevation
includes gabled porch with 2-centred outer arch with moulded surround and hoodmould.
Original door of 6 upright panels with linenfold decoration and overlight with
glazing bars. Gables on this side, including the porch have kneelers and coping.
Divided stacks have soffit-moulded caps. Low service wing to right (north-east) has
original stone-mullioned 2-light window to first floor and C20 French window doors
to ground floor. Rear has sash windows with glazing bars. Interior includes much
original plasterwork and joinery.
