Farmhouse. Late C16, refronted in mid C18 and remodelled and extended in early
C19. Late C16 building of flint and ironstone rubble with brick quoins and
dressings; rear wall and early C19 rear wing of Flemish bond brick; gabled pantile
roof; late C16 truncated lateral stack to right and late C16 left end stack
finished in mid C18 and C19 brick; early C19 ridge stack to rear wing. 3-unit
plan, extended to L-plan with rear left wing in early C19. 2 storeys; 3-window
range. Mid C18 segmental brick arches over central C19 four-panelled (2 glazed)
door, flanking 12-pane sashes and mid/late C19 three-light first floor casements.
Similar sash to right side wall. Rear wing of 2-storey, 4-window range with
segmental arches and timber lintels over C20 doors and casements with glazing
bars. Interior: front range has early/mid C19 panelled doors, early C19
stick-baluster staircase with curved handrail; orolo-moulded beams; room to right
has two reset early C16 foliate-carved beams, a late C14/early C15 roll-moulded
and carved beam to right and a set of scribed C16 joists. Room to rear has mid
C18 panelled door set in C19 architrave and a mid C18 moulded cornice over a late
C19 door. The beams are reputed to have come from West Dereham Abbey House.
