Farmhouse, now detached house. Mid C17, altered C19 and C20.
Limestone; rubblestone and dressed stone, concrete tiled roof,
formerly thatched, stone stacks. Two-storey, 4-window. Planked
door in chamfered wooden case with early C20 glazed and gabled
porch to left of centre, to left is C19 three-light casement, to
right is 3-light casement, C20 fixed window and 2-light casement
inserted into blocked doorway, first floor has three 3-light leaded
casements and one 2-light casement. Attached to right is C19 two-
storey extension, added to in 1930s, planked door and 3-light
casements. Left return is windowless, raking buttress. Rear has
C20 flat-roofed extension to ground floor, first floor has four 2-
light leaded casements.
Interior has deeply chamfered beams with stepped or ogee stops, 2
open fireplaces, south one has chamfered lintel with rounded
corners, the other has lintel with stepped stops. House is
probably of two C17 builds; an early to mid C17 cottage to south,
extended to north in late C17, further northern additions in C19
and C20. Formerly part of Wyndham estate; Phillips House (q.v.),
Dinton.
