House row. C17, with C18 facade and later alterations. Ground floor
roughly coursed stone, first floor purplish brick in Flemish bond.
First floor of rear left wing rendered, and of rear right wing tile-
hung. Plain tile roof. 2 storeys and cellar. Brick plat band.
Hipped roof, hips returning. Small projecting stone stack with brick
flue to left gable, stack in rear span of roof to left of centre,
and large projecting stone stack with brick flue to right gable end.
Irregular fenestration of four windows; two 3-light casements, one single-
light casement and one 12-pane sash. Ribbed door up 3 steps, with
flat floating hood beneath stack to No. 2. Door to No. 1 to left
gable end and to No. 3 to right gable end. Short rear return wings to
right and left, that to right gabled, that to left with hipped roof.
Interior: only No. 2 inspected. Large tooled stone fireplace with low
vase chamfer-stops. Broadly-chamfered axial beam and chamfered joists
to ground floor room. C18 staircase between stack and front wall, with
moulded handrail and balusters, and with broad spiral stone cellar
staircase under. C18 roof with re-used smoke-blackened rafters, in
two spans.
