Farmhouse, now detached house. C15, front range added late C18.
Limestone ashlar, with chamfered rusticated quoins, stone slate
hipped mansard roof with stone stacks. Two parallel ranges, rear
C15 range with 5-bay roof. Two-storey and attic, 3-window.
Central door with 6 fielded panels with engaged Tuscan columns and
pediment, pair of 12-pane sashes either side in moulded architrave.
Plat band to first floor; pair of sashes either side of central
sash. Three 2-light attic casements to lower pitch of mansard,
behind plain blocking course. Left return has glazed door, blind
first floor window. Right return has pair of sashes to ground
floor and blind pair to first floor. Rear range has coped verge
with saddleback coping, large lateral stack, right return has C20
casement to ground floor and pair of cusped lancets, probably C19,
to first.
Interior of C18 range has original joinery: 6-panelled doors and
shutters, stairs with turned balusters and continuous handrail.
C15 range has Tudor-arched stone fireplace to first floor, deep
chamfered beams to inserted ceiling. Three-bay roof with deep
arch-braced cranked collars and curved windbraces, chamfered
soffits. Rear range probably a solar wing to a hall house, rebuilt
C18.
