Almshouse above 3 pigshouses. Probably C18. Stone rubble base, slate hung with rag
slates above ground floor. Rag slate roof with hipped end on left and half hipped end
on right. Stone rubble rear lateral stack with moulded cap.
Plan: Three pigshouses on ground floor with one-room plan almshouse on first floor.
The ground rises up to rear and the almshouse is approached by door directly into
rear wall. There is a small outshut on the right hand end.
Exterior: Two storeys. Pair of doors to 2 pigshouses on left and further door to
right. The first floor is jettied out over the ground floor and is hung with rag
slates. C19 sash with margin glazing bars on first floor.
Interior: Not inspected.
Information on almshouse and pigshouses given by owners of Pethins (qv) and Virginia
(qv) whose deed refer to the ownership of the pigshouses and the maintenance of the
almshouse above.
