4/86 Landreyne Farmhouse

Farmhouse. Circa early to mid C19. Stone rubble with granite quoins. Slate roof
with gable ends and with half-hipped end to range on left. Brick shaft to end and
axial stacks.
Plan: Main ranges is of double depth plan with central entrance leading into wide
passage. Two principal rooms to front heated by end stacks with stair to rear of
passage and narrow service rooms to rear of principal rooms. Set slightly back on
left is a double depth, two room plan wing which is either coeval or slightly later
than the house. There is a small C19 or C20 extension to the rear of the main range.
Exterior: Two storeys. Almost symmetrical 1:3 window front. The main range has a
central C19 door with C20 glazing in a C19 slate porch with hipped slate roof.
Flanked by two C19 3-light casements with dressed stone arches and dressed strings.
above. First floor with two C19 3-light casements flanking a central 2-light
casement; all with dressed stone arches. Set slightly back on left a 2-storey range
with C19 3-light casements on ground and first floor, the detailing and the dressed
stone of the main range repeated in this wing. On the right hand end of the house a
granite mounting block. The first floor openings to rear retain their C19 2 and 3-
light casements with dressed stone arches and there is a small circa late C19
extension, remodelled and extended in the C20.
Interior: Wide cross passage with C19 stair to rear. Not fully inspected.
