2/54 First World War Memorial
GV II
War memorial commemorating those killed in 1914-1919. Erected by public subscription
and unveiled in 1921. Granite ashlar. Square on plan. Aedicular monument, raised
on a moulded plinth. Corner pilasters with cusped headed shallow niches on the four
faces, each recessed panel containing an inscription. The granite, steeply pitched
roof has gabled ends above all four faces.
