Farmhouse. Probably C18 origins extended in later C18, early C19 and mid C19. Stone
rubble, stuccoed on front elevation. Bitumen-coated slate roof with gable end on
left and hipped end on right. Brick shafts to end stack on left and axial stack near
right hand end.
Plan: Original plan uncertain. The house has been built in several phases. The
rear elevation has at least two straight joints and the front is stuccoed. It is
possible that the central part on the rear elevation is the earliest, the house being
extended with the addition of a parallel range on the front, forming a double depth
plan. The house was extended to left and right, probably in the early and mid C19.
The entrance is to left of centre flanked by two principal rooms. The third room on
the lower right hand side has a separate entrance and was possibly divided off as a
separate cottage. The rear range contains extensive service rooms with a large
kitchen to rear right and large dairy to rear left.
Exterior: Two storeys. The asymmetrical 4-window front elevation was probably
remodelled in the mid C19 and is stuccoed with raised quoins. C19 porch with flat
roof. Round arched doorway with C19 door and margin glazing bars to the side lights.
Flanked by two 6-pane sashes with part glazed circa late C19 or early C20 porch to
far right. First floor with three 6-pane sashes and 4-pane sash to right.
The rear elevation is also unaltered with complete C19 windows and C19 panelled door.
Interior: Not inspected.
