6/109 The Old Rectory

GV II

House. C18 rebuilding of a C17 house. Painted brick largely replacing
earlier timber framing; plain tile roof; brick ridge stacks. 3-cell
baffle entry plan range aligned north-west/south-east facing north-
east with a 2-cell extension to the north-west on the same alignment
and a rear wing to the south-east aligned north-east/south-west. 3
windows, glazing bar sashes, and casement to ground floor right. C19/C20
porch to right of centre with hipped roof inside to a half glazed door.
Slightly lower 2-storey, 2-bay extension to the right with casements
and half-glazed door to the right. Interior. Exposed square panel
timber framing; chamfered ceiling beams; re-used early C18 wall panelling;
2 large open fireplaces with timber bresummers; ovolo moulded spine
beam in a wing to the rear.
