House. Early C19 front; C16 rear wing. White brick facade;
rendered side; timber-framed and rendered rear; slates to
front, plaintiles to rear.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys and cellar to front; 2 storeys to rear.
One window to each storey, 12-pane sashes to the 1st and
ground storeys, 9-pane to the top storey: all in cased frames
with plain reveals, flat gauged heads and projecting stone
sills. A 6-panelled door in a semicircular-headed brick
surround with plain reveals has a fanlight with radial
glazing-bars. The rear wing has one 3-light and one 2-light
small-paned casement window.
INTERIOR: the rear wing, in 3 bays, contains one 2-bay room
with chamfered cross-beams exposed. The roof over these 2 bays
has the remains of a plain crown-post structure and an end
partition wall, indicating that the 3rd bay is an addition.
The rafters were partly replaced in the C19 and the roof now
has a shallow pitch.
