House, now education centre. Mid and late C19. Coursed squared
stone and ashlar with slate roof. Gable stack with 4 octagonal
shafts, similar triple side wall stack, single gable stack.
Castellated style.
EXTERIOR: chamfered plinth and string courses, eaves band and
parapet. 2 storeys; 3 window range with central 2-light window
flanked by a 3-light window to left and a 4-light one to
right, all with label moulds. Windows are stone mullioned
casements. Parapeted square porch with Tudor arched doorway
flanked to left by a 3-light window with label mould, and to
right by a canted stone bay window, 3 lights. To right, a 2
storey addition in matching style, with crenellated parapet
and two 2-light windows on each floor. Left, garden front has
an off-centre square tower, 3 stages, with crenellated parapet
and at the rear, a higher crenellated turret. Single transomed
window and above it, a cross-mullioned window with balcony and
label mould. Below, to left, 4-centred arched doorway with
traceried glazed door. To right, a set back range, single
window, with a 2-light window on each floor, the upper one
with balcony.
To left, projecting gabled block, 2 storeys; 3 window range.
Central 3-light window flanked by single 2-light ones, all
with label moulds. Below, large canted parapeted bay window
with a 3-light cross casement flanked by single 2-light ones.
Rear has to right a canted crenellated 2 storey bay window
with 3 cross casements on each floor.
