Penfold pillar box. c1872. Designed by JW Penfold. Manufactured by Cochrane and Co, Dudley. Cast-iron, painted red. Hexagonal box with beaded frieze and top enriched with acanthus type leaves and bud finial. Royal coat of arms above mouth, words Post Office flanking mouth and letters "VR" entwined beneath frame for time plate.
Subsequently moved to current location in about 2014.
