639-1/8/114 Table Tomb 30 metres to the south of
the Cathedral of St James

GV II

Table tomb. 1771. Ketton stone. To members of the DALTON
family. On a raised base. Fluted pilasters at the corners and
along the sides between raised fielded panels. Moulded table
top. The panels are all inscribed, though not readily legible:
the earliest date ?1769, the next 1771. Immediately to the
east of the tomb a stone block on the ground is inscribed
'DALTON The Mouth of ye VAULT 1771'.
