Drinking fountain and sundial. 1870. Formerly at the south end
of The Traverse; removed to the Abbey Gardens in 1939. Stone.
A hexagonal raised base is flanked by 3 flower borders; in its
centre a wide shallow bowl on a pedestal supports a high
fluted column with 4 former water outlets and a lead plaque
dated 1870 on its base. The column has an enriched Ionic
capital, surmounted by a rectangular pedestal with a sundial
on its south face and topped by an urn.
