Pair of cottages, now one dwelling. c1850-60; altered. Scored
stucco (probably on sandstone rubble), slate roof. Cottage
ornee style. Rectangular plan formed by a single-depth 2-unit
front range with coupled back extensions.
2 low storeys, 1+1 windows, symmetrical; with a plinth, raised
rusticated quoins, roof with oversailing eaves and 2 gablets;
2 cross-windows on each floor, those at ground floor square
with square lights and moulded hood-moulds, those above with
gablets over them, and all with diamond lattice glazing. Ridge
chimney. The gable walls have former doorways altered as
windows, that to the left (No.31) with a wooden canopy; the
doorway to No.29 is now in the side of the back extension,
with a C20 glazed porch.
INTERIOR not inspected.
HISTORY: formerly staff cottages to Rose Hill estate.
