Barn. Late C17 with early C18 addition, or early C18 with mid C18
addition (this is dated 1710 or 1740), incorporating earlier timbers,
later alterations. Red brick in flemish bond with internal timber
frame; plain tile roof. 3, 1 bays, the right bay added, with rear
aisle. Opposing cart entries to original central bay, that at front
in midstray having hipped roof with gablet. Decorative pattern of
vents, with hexagonal vents set above and below slit vents to front
wall, and cross vents and gable bird-hole to rear and returns. Right
return has large numerals in grey headers depicting date. Later
outshut addition to front right; aisle to rear right bays removed and
C20 brez-block wall replacement. Interior: jowelled wall-posts braced
to tie-beams and wall plates; collared queen-strut roof trusses,
having principal rafters reducing in scantling above collar, clasped
purlins; halved, pegged, rafters with carpenters' numerals, arched
wind braces. The timbers are reused from a timber-framed barn with
wattle and daub infill, probably of the C16.
