courtyard at Tylney Hall

Outbuilding. Circa 1900 by R. Selden Wornum. Red brick with boxed eaves to
plain tiled roof with 3 square-headed dormers on left return front and two to
front. Cupola at east end of return ridge. Gable ended block with lower
extension to east and at right-angles, to south. Some half-timbering in
gable, 1 1/2 storeys with taller six-bay main block end on, 4-bay eastern extension
and 3-bays to right on gable-front. Large casement windows with glazing bars in
segment-headed surrounds. Glazed door with heavy entablature hood on brackets over
to left of north front. Tuscan-columned flat-headed porch with panelled door
behind at right end of west front. Included for group value.
